Police found the man who shot two officers after his father ratted him out.
The suspect in the shooting of two policemen in Moscow at the weekend was found hiding under his bed after his father contacted the police.
Yakub Kartakayev was arrested on Monday night in the Moscow region, where he had gone into hiding.
The suspect, who was wounded in the shooting, did not resist arrest and admitted to shooting two officers, one of whom was killed, police sources told RIA Novosti.
"The detained admitted that he also went out aiming to commit a crime on Friday night, but was stopped by the policemen and opened fire," the source said.
Kartakayev was charged with the attack on the officers and with illicit arms trafficking, the official representative of Prosecutor's Office Investigation Committee told RIA Novosti.
Investigators are currently exploring the suspect's possible involvement in other crimes.
The officers who apprehended Kartakayev are to receive awards, reported RIA Novosti.
