Reiner Maria Matysik: "Failed Organisms"
Until Jan. 23, Laboratoria Art & Science Space,
3 Per. Obukha, 730 0167, m. Chkalovskaya, www.newlaboratoria.ru
This week is the last week to see Reiner Maria Matysik's most original exhibition, "Failed Organisms".
A curious mixture of modern art and biology, the artist from Berlin has created more than 100 examples of various organisms, made from plastic, silicone, rubber, epoxy resin and PVC.
His works resemble real fossilised remains of extinct forms of life on this planet.
Some of the more provocative exhibits, such as "inokuli" (the eyeless ones), "impigre sudans" (tireless perspirer), "caecus occultus" (hidden blind one), and "clotho exentrica" (eccentric spinstress) are sure to raise more than a few eyebrows.
The second part of the exhibition is devoted to the lost evolutionary link between primates and human beings.
Visitors will be able to take a look at where we come from and how we got to be what we are.
